Finally, after years of wanting to go to Korea, I’m here! Since I am pretty much of a foodie, I shall blog about the food I had. The place I am going to review made me drool before I even left Singapore. To think that I almost scrapped this out of my plans… the horror! Thankfully, my wise colleague told me before I left, just go and try lah… later regret never try. Somunnan Amso Galbi is located in Busan and on the way there in the train, we met a nice old man who stays round the corner from the restaurant! He brought us all the way to the door step. Super thankful because it is quite ulu and I would have exited at the wrong exit.
Since pictures are worth a thousand words… there you go! Pictures of the fooooood…
Each person gets an individual banchan set.
We ordered 2 types of beef: fresh beef and marinated beef. The fresh beef was so good that we added on another portion. It was so juicy and tasty. Went really well with the chilli salt they provided.
We added on the famous potato noodles too. Chewy and rather sweet due to the “soup” it cooked in. We order 1 rice that came with a small bowl spicy bean paste soup. It was simple with only some tofu and potatoes but it was seriously OMG good!! Do yourself a favour and order 1 bowl of rice.
I am typing this post on the ktx on the way to Seoul and reflecting, this is the best meal I had in Busan. No regrets and will travel here again just to eat this.
So how do you get here… here are some pictorial descriptions. I hope it would help if you would like to try it. By the way, the old man I met… He told us it was delicious at least 3 times.
